When I last redesigned this site, I promised myself that I wouldn't do it again until I learned PHP. Well, I sorta cheated. ^^; The menu bar on the left has been reorganized to make room for new additions! "Event Reports" have been added... Like Con Reports, only about non-convention events, or events held at a con that deserve extra recognition. The Wasabi Halloween report was covered by our own Ma Belle, while the JACO Halloween report was covered by Heather Gorlitz. Heather was also nice enough to let AnimeBelle.com use her photos of the JACO Halloween Party, since I was unable to attend. So make sure you check out those event reports, check out those photos, and also check out her site, Dragonmun.com! But if you're planning on leaving this site, just make sure you come on back now, ya hear?

The Game Shows section of the AWA9 con report is up, courtesy of Ma Belle. Also, 28 more photos of the Wasabi Halloween Party have been posted in the galleries, so hurry and check them out!

Big update! First bit of news... AnimeBelle.com has broken the half-a-million hit mark! At the moment of this posting, my hit counter's showing 511,993 hits since the site went up in December of 2002, and 241,400 of them have happened just in this month!
We finally have a StarArtist interview up in the Stars section, with Heather Gorlitz of Dragonmun.com, who also draws the comics Wyrm Eat Brain and Samurai Mushroom. The first 74 photos of the Wasabi Halloween Party have been posted in the gallery, so be sure to check them out. As much as I would've liked to, I was unable to attend the Jaco Halloween Party, though I'm hoping to be able to make it next year. Last but not least, five more pieces of fan art have been added to the art gallery, so be sure to check them out.

AnimeBelle.com has gotten over 200,000 hits this month, and the month isn't even over yet. When I was at AWA9, I was blown away by how many people I met that said, "Oh, I go to your site all the time!" But what surprised me even more was when those very same people asked, "Shades of Red? What's that?"

It seems that I haven't been advertising my own web comic enough. Whereas AnimeBelle.com has over 200,000 hits this month alone, SoR has only gotten 26,000 since the counter first started ticking back in December of 2002. Thus, one little button is no longer enough... I've now added a banner to the top of the news!

In other news, I've added more artwork to the art gallery. I've also added three pieces of Shades of Red fan art, one of which was even drawn by Steve Bennett, one of the folks behind IC Entertainment and an animator of Urusei Yatsura. Speaking of IC Entertainment, go order AmeriManga! I picked up every issue they had at AWA9 and believe me, there are some great manga-ka here in the US.

The next part of Ma Belle's con report has been uploaded! Be sure to check out the new AMV Contest review in the AWA9 con report. The Game Shows review will be coming soon, so y'all come on back now, y'hear?

Ma Belle's in-depth con report for AWA9 is online! Believe me, she's never left a con with such a high opinion before. To check it out, be sure to click on the 'Con Reports' button over there on the left side.

AnimeBelle.com is proud to announce the formation of a new Wasabi Anime of Florida chapter in Green Cove Springs, hosted by Anna May Belle and Ma Belle. If you would like to find out more, click here! Our first meeting will be November 7th, so if you live in the area, get in contact with us to let us know you're coming, 'n y'all come on down now, ya hear?

Over 100 more photos have been uploaded! This also means that the Costume Contest section has been opened. A major bug was fixed in the forums (nobody but me could view or post on the three new boards and nobody bothered to tell me), and the events section has been updated and a new Alabama club has been added to the clubs section.

Speaking of events, if you're looking for something to do for Halloween other than scaring the neighbors with your Hellsing cosplay in the front yard, then you may want to check out Wasabi Anime of Florida's Halloween Cosplay Party 2003, in Orlando. Only 200 tickets are available for the Wasabi Halloween Party so order in advance on their website, here! The Wasabi party happens on Friday night, October 24th. Saturday night, the 25th, JACO will be holding their own Halloween party at the University of Central Florida. Be sure to check out their flier here. I'll be at both, taking photos! So y'all come back now, ya hear?

A bunch more photos have been added; the AWA9 Guest and AWA9 Events sections have been opened in the gallery, and one last Cosplay photo was added that took a little more Photoshop-ing to get ready to post (Setzer almost couldn't be seen at all in the shadows in the original). A couple of errors have been fixed in the Events section; Numa Rei-no Con was missing from the list and DreamCon didn't have a link, but these have both been added now. Numa Rei-no Con is the last con in the south this year, it has a giant Dealer's Room, and it's free, so go there if you can to do your last minute Christmas shopping.

The cosplayer photos are up! It took a little time to upload them because they all had to be cropped, and most needed touchups (everything from a minor red-eye removal to taking a distracting plant out from behind someone). Also, the forums have been rearranged, and new boards created for specific topics (general discussion. cosplay, AMVs, and art). A lot more stuff is coming soon, so keep coming back now, ya hear?
