I just got back from Anime Weekend Atlanta 9, and boy are my legs tired... And no, that's not a poor attempt at humor. I spent the entire weekend running around from one event to another, scoping out the dealer's room, and photographing some of the amazing cosplayers that attended AWA this year. The new facilities were a vast improvement over the convention center that AWA was using; the hotel staff was courteous to the attendees, and security was not rude to the attendees either, which had been a major problem at previous Anime Weekend Atlantas. A full convention report will be coming in a few days.

Speaking of what will be coming in a few days... I took over 300 photos at AWA (my largest number yet), so it will take me a couple of days to get them all re-touched, sized properly, and uploaded to the galleries. Cosplayers are top priority, and the guests, costume contest, and events will follow immediately afterward. Also, keep your eyes peeled for a new AMV Star interview coming soon!

On a final note for tonight... Total number of Shades of Red prints that were to be given away at AWA: 15. Total number of participants in the contest: 1.

Well, early tomorrow morning I will get in a car, drive 6+ hours to Atlanta to be there the day before Anime Weekend Atlanta so I don't have to drive up the next day and miss most of Friday's events. This is my last update until Monday. I plan to take somewhere around two-hundred photos, and hopefully the majority will be uploaded by Tuesday. REMEMBER to check out the I Love Grits contest for your chance to win a signed and numbered Shades of Red print at AWA! Y'all behave in the forums, galleries, and oekaki board while I'm gone, and come back soon now, ya hear?

Ah, finally... there are no more 'hold yer horses' pages on the website! The Art section is finally up and running. There are galleries, tutorials, and links to other art resources. But this section of the site more than any other requires contributions to make it grow. While I'm planning to create a number of Photoshop tutorials myself, I can't do everything. If you wish to submit art to the galleries, tutorials, or art links, just contact me! Remember that Anime Weekend Atlanta is a week from tomorrow, so make sure you check in on the "I Love Grits" contest to find out how you can win signed and numbered Shades of Red art prints at the con. So y'all send in that art now, ya hear?!

Right now, CosplayLab is running a poll to ask people how long they're willing to drive to get to an anime convention. At the time of this news post, the majority of you (36%) have said you're willing to drive eight hours or more to attend a con! Now that's what I call dedication! So, AnimeBelle.com's events section has been updated with the con listings for 2004, and has expanded outside of Florida and Georgia, to give dates for conventions in Missisippi, Texas, Tennessee, and Alabama too. Also, for those of you looking for ChibiCon on the list... it outgrew its 'Chibi' status last year, and is now being called PersaCon. It's going to be a busy con schedule next year (at least between March and June), so get crackin on those costumes... And y'all come back now, ya hear?

Eek! Over a month since the last update! While I won't go into details, I will say this much... Windows XP does not react well to change. While I did end up having to format a hard drive in this whole mess, I luckily didn't lose any art or pages. As many of you probably know, Anime Weekend Atlanta is in just under two weeks. I will be attending, and holding AnimeBelle.com's first contest! To find out more, just click on the "I Love Grits!" banner in the lower left corner. Honestly now, who doesn't love grits?
